Big ears and even more, ears which are not close to the head are a source of self-consciousness for many people. The reason and the person's sex do not matter; this thing is a source of discomfort.

Plastic surgeons do not encourage people with this problem to mask the ears with hair or accessories because a local surgery has no major risk. If the case is congenital, the ideal age for the intervention is 7, before the child goes to school, to avoid further problems caused by name-calling. There is no restriction for older children to have this surgery.
